Rainbow Road
If you are a Mario Kart fan, you’ll quickly recognize the image above. This is Rainbow Road. It is by far one of the most challenging couses you will ever race on in Mario Kart. Rainbow Road tends to be a forward looking, futuristic track that is full of excitement that is meant to test your skills and push you to the next level.
It is in this spirit that Archly would like to introduce Rainbow Road. One of the pain points for a DEX is the flow of assets into and out of an ecosystem. Current methods involve high fees and long wait times. This leads to friction for the users and projects that depend on these assets to go about performing what they set out to do. By freeing these assets to move between ecosystems in an efficient, low latency, and low cost way, we enable projects and users to do more where they want with the least amount of effort. In other words, we want to empower projects and users to do what they want, when they want in a frictionless manner. Archly and other Solidly forks do a good job at creating base layers of liquidity for their respective ecosystems. But the time has come for us to become the base layer of liquidity across all ecosystems. Pushing us all to our limit and expanding on Solidly’s vision of being a protocol for protocols.
This is where Archly aims to step in and build out a futuristic and forward looking solution that takes the best of what is available in Web2 and Web3 to create a seamlessly scaling base-layer of liquidity across any network. Our goal is to provide a fabric that connects networks together to power use cases for projects, users, and networks. To start building towards that future, Archly is going cross-chain. Archly has been deployed to Arbitrum Nova, BNB Chain, Fantom, Kava (EVM), Optimism, and Polygon (Matic). Along with Telos, that makes a total of seven networks where Archly is available. So the easy part is out of the way. Lap 1 will finish with the initialization of the Archly Nodes and updating of the Archly website to support the new nodes. And yes, there will be another airdrop of veArc on the networks with the new Archly Nodes! We now have seven distinct instances of Archly that we will refer to as the Archly Nodes. Archly Nodes will each operate independently of each other and will continue to do so during Lap 2, building up the way the Telos Archly Node has done so far. In this time period, we will apply for grants and participate in incentives programs, where available, to further incentivize veArc holders to vote for pools and help projects build deep liquidity on their network by directing Arc emissions to liquidity providers. You’ll notice that just like the gaps on the track in the image above, there are gaps between the Archly Nodes. So, how do we connect them together to bring about our vision?
The Archly Rainbow Road
We are now building out the infrastructure needed for the Rainbow Road, leveraging the best tools and practices available to scale liquidity in the most decentralized way possible. This may take different shapes depending on the capabilities and resources of a network. But the underlying experience will be the same no matter which Archly Node you are interacting with by providing a unified interface to the Rainbow Road. At the end of Lap 2, you will be able to put your Arc on the Rainbow Road and have it ready to use on any of the other Archly Nodes. Meaning you will be able to lock your Arc and vote to build liquidity for projects you support on a different network. This allows your support for your favorite projects to be fluid and applied where it is needed. Likewise, projects will be able to send their Arc to networks where they are or expanding to and vote on pools to incentivize their pools with Arc emissions. Helping them build liquidity to support their communities on any supported chain. This takes Archly where no other Solidly fork has gone before, with the hope that others will follow and collaborate with Archly to enhance our user’s experience.
In Lap 3, after Rainbow Road has been vetted, tested, and tuned up for Arc, it will be opened up for any project or network to utilize. This final lap lays the final pieces of the foundation to allow fluid movement of assets and scaling of liquidity across many connected chains through the Rainbow Road. So projects and users will be able to move their assets, including veArc, around to supported networks and take advantage of the best APRs (Bribe and LP), help projects build deep liquidity through voting, or any other scenarios around user’s and project’s assets more efficiently on any network with a connection to the Rainbow Road. And this will all be done with the lowest fees possible, keeping with the spirit of Archly and other Solidly forks. In short, you will get to be a part of the Archly Flywheel wherever Rainbow Road takes you. It will be a challenging path ahead. But it will be fun and exciting too! After crossing the finish line, Archly’s and those that join us, skills will have been tested and pushed to the next level to provide yet another public service for the benefit of all.
See you at the finish line!
