Archly Integrates Chainlink CCIP to Bring Automation and Price Feeds Cross-Chain
On June 22nd, 2023, we integrated Chainlink Automation into the Archly DEX to help power the reliable and decentralized execution of Archly DEX’s weekly maintenance scripts. This upgrade from our centralized, server-based infrastructure ultimately helped ensure the smooth, cost-efficient mint and distribution of Arc emissions.
In support of the continued growth and maturation of our decentralized infrastructure, we’re excited to announce that we have now expanded our integration of the Chainlink decentralized computing platform to include industry-standard services such as Chainlink Price Feeds and CCIP. Here’s how it works.
How Archly Uses CCIP, Price Feeds, and Automation
Archly’s Rainbow Road is a general-purpose abstraction layer that connects the resources and capabilities available on individual blockchains to provide developers, users, and projects, including Archly, with access to a consistent set of resources on any chain.
Making Native Cross-Chain Transfers Using CCIP
Archly has successfully integrated CCIP across the following blockchains: Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, and Optimism for protocol-owned token transfers.
We chose CCIP as our preferred blockchain interoperability solution because it is underpinned by a security-first architecture, as well as features such as:
- Seamless integration — CCIP offers a unified cross-chain developer experience by providing a single, easy-to-integrate interface. Developers only need to integrate the CCIP Router on-chain to start building secure cross-chain applications.
- Scalable architecture — CCIP eliminates the need for developers to write custom code for chain-specific integrations, while users can interact with any blockchain via a single interface.
- Future-proof — CCIP is built to support continuous updates, such as the integration of new blockchains, the introduction of advanced functionalities, and the addition of other defense-in-depth approaches to security. Thus, integrating with CCIP eliminates future switching costs should new cross-chain functionalities be needed.
Leveraging CCIP to Enable Arc Cross-Chain Minting
With the release of Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Archly can now use Rainbow Road to extend the features of Automation to any chain by using CCIP to securely and reliably execute smart contracts on another blockchain.
While this feature is being natively used by Archly to automate Arc minting and distribution across various blockchains, the generalized design of Rainbow Road enables any project on any Rainbow Road-compatible chain to natively use this combination of Automation and CCIP to trigger their smart contract functions cross-chain.
Expanding Access to Chainlink Price Feeds Via CCIP and Automation
Because Archly’s Rainbow Road integrates CCIP, it can take the high-quality, industry-standard price data provided by Chainlink Price Feeds cross-chain. Specifically, Chainlink Automation monitors a source chain for price updates and then triggers CCIP to send the price data cross-chain. This gives developers onchain access to Chainlink Price Feeds’ secure, decentralized, and transparent data.
For Archly, this combination of Chainlink Price Feeds and CCIP is used to denominate the values of Arbitrum Nova-based tokens.
Looking Ahead: Unifying Infrastructure For Any Project on Any Chain
Going forward, Archly will continue to integrate more products and services from Chainlink into Rainbow Road to increase the accessibility of these industry-standard resources and level up Archly’s underlying infrastructure. For example, we aim to make products like VRF and its verifiably fair randomness solution available to any project on any chain. Additionally, Archly will continue to integrate Chainlink as it expands CCIP to more and more chains. This will enable us to take advantage of CCIP’s Risk Management Network to help Archly navigate the ever-changing blockchain landscape.
“We always knew that we wanted to bring the products and services offered by Chainlink to any user on any chain through Rainbow Road. Chainlink services are the unanimous industry standard and a go-to infrastructure for all Web3 developers. We now live in a cross-chain world where new chains are popping up every day. And as these chains go live, we will work to make Chainlink products and services more accessible to developers across all blockchains.” –Tec, Lead Developer.
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry-standard decentralized computing platform powering the verifiable web. Chainlink has enabled over $8.8 trillion in transaction value by providing financial institutions, startups, and developers worldwide with access to real-world data, offchain computation, and secure cross-chain interoperability across any blockchain. Chainlink powers verifiable applications and high-integrity markets for banking, DeFi, global trade, gaming, and other major sectors.
